These terms cover your purchase and use of The Inside Rules: What Prison Taught Me About People, Pressure, Power, and Self-Control and its bonuses (together, "the Manual"). By buying the Manual you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't buy it.

1. Who sells the Manual

The Manual is written and published by James Whitfield — "Iron James" — the author name used for the book and the YouTube channel ("we," "us"). It is sold through Gumroad. Gumroad acts as the merchant of record for every purchase: it processes your payment, issues your receipt, and calculates, collects, and pays any sales tax or VAT. 2. What you're buying

The Manual is a digital product: the PDF ebook The Inside Rules plus PDF bonuses (The Household Manual, The First-Weekend Lockdown, The Commissary Ledger, The $15 Shopping List, and The Cell Workout). There is no physical item and nothing is shipped.

3. Price and payment

The price is shown on the sales page at checkout, in U.S. dollars. Payment is a one-time charge — there is no subscription. Payments are processed by Gumroad, and your purchase is also subject to Gumroad's terms. Sales tax or VAT may be added at checkout depending on where you live.

4. Delivery

After payment, Gumroad gives you a download page and emails you a link. If you don't receive it, check your spam folder, then email us and we'll help.

5. Updates

When we release a corrected or expanded version of the Manual, you can download it from your Gumroad library at no extra cost, for as long as we continue to sell and update the Manual.

6. 7-day money-back guarantee

If the Manual isn't for you, email support@ironjames.com within 7 days of your purchase with the email address you used to buy it. We'll refund the full purchase price to your original payment method. No questions, no forms. Refunds are processed through Gumroad, and the time it takes to show up depends on your bank or card.

7. Your license

When you buy the Manual, you get a personal, non-transferable license to read it, keep it on your own devices, and print copies for your own household. You may not:

• share, upload, resell, give away, or publicly post the files or any substantial part of them;
• copy the content into another product, course, or publication;
• remove any copyright notice or buyer information from the files.

Short quotes for a review or discussion are fine. The Manual's text, design, and illustrations are protected by copyright and remain ours.

8. Educational content — read the safety notes

The Manual is general educational information. It is not medical, legal, financial, tax, electrical, plumbing, pest-control, or other professional advice for your situation.

• Always read and follow product labels. If a label and the Manual disagree, follow the label.
• Follow the Safety sections in each chapter — especially around chemicals, children, pets, water containers, heat, and repairs.
• Talk to a doctor before starting any exercise routine, and get professional help for anything beyond simple, low-risk fixes.
• The money chapters are general household budgeting. They are not investment advice.

You are responsible for how you use the information. Use your own judgment and stop if something seems unsafe.

9. Results and prices

Savings figures in the Manual and on this website are estimates based on typical U.S. prices in 2026. Your results depend on your home, location, current spending, and which methods you use. We don't promise any specific amount of savings.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any injury, damage, or loss that comes from using or misusing the Manual. Our total liability for any claim related to the Manual is limited to the amount you paid for it. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. The terms in place when you bought the Manual apply to that purchase.

12. Governing law and your rights

Your purchase is also covered by Gumroad's terms, as the merchant of record. Nothing in these terms limits any consumer rights you have under the law where you live. If you have a problem, email us first — most things can be fixed with one message.
